I have 80 CDs now. I have 42 on my wishlist I have yet to be able to find and the temptation to order them online is strong.
Need to get to 100 at leastttttt
@Smolpansexual@rape.pet @Crimson@cannibal.cafe @myus@eepy.express i do the latter, funkwhale ftw
@Crimson@cannibal.cafe physical media. i own it and not just access to it online. i can do whatever i want with it, rip it in any quality, read the lyric booklets and admire the art
i love the physical music culture that's dead. nothing like going to a record store on release day and chatting it up with other fans of the band, anxiously awaiting getting home. on the way there you unwrap it, admiring the art on the cd. when you get home the first thing you do it put it in your cd player, and watch it spin, moments later you hear sound, somehow stored on a little disc. while you listen you read the lyric book, look at the art: getting the full experience of a new album release.
then you put it on your shelf and line it up next to all the other cds you had the same magical experience with. and admire your physical collection of the music you love. when friends come over you show them your favorites, you show them the booklets.
you see lyrics that were changed, such as in the fall out boy FUTCT booklet, where they have "wishing to be the friction in his jeans* written. you see how for some reason on Follow the Leader, the track listing starts at 13 instead of 1. in the booklet there's pictures of naked women in bdsm. heck, there's even an illustration of a little girl that shows a peek at her butt crack.
this is how the artists intended it to be. not just going on spotify and listening the exact moment it becomes public
@arisudotexe do you collect music? What are your favourites?
@Nessnb@pawoo.net yes i do. i collect just about any cd that has a song i like, and i collect vinyls of my favorite records, with a new addition to my collection: Hybrid Theory
i love pop punk, hip hop, nu metal, etc. my favorites in my collection are Hybrid Theory, Eminem Show, Fever you can't sweat out, Black Parade, Splatune, and some signed ones, including the Shovel Knight soundtrack
@arisudotexe that's awesome.
I love that feeling of getting an album you have been chasing.
I like punk mostly, I've got one vinyl that's limited to 1000 copies worldwide
