What's the difference between complex c and pro c?
@elderemosarecool@cannibal.cafe I think it's just that there are more variables involved for someone to be able to consent besides just age. Such as "can only consent if they've gone through puberty" or "can only consent if they bring up sex and not the adult"
@arisudotexe so if I were to simplify it, pro c is more of an absolute "kids can consent no matter what" while complex c is like "well it depends"?
@elderemosarecool@cannibal.cafe i suppose, tho i'd argue that pro-c's can also have age barriers, such as only 13+ or something
@arisudotexe @elderemosarecool agreed, i'm not sure if i have one (though if i do it's definitely lower than 13, maybe around 7 or 8? still not sure if i do though, would depend on some deeper questions that i'm kinda neutral on)
@arisudotexe @elderemosarecool
another thing is that people calling themselves pro-c maps if the limit is 13+ is kinda disingenuous, since that almost entirely excludes pedophilia, in that case i guess pro-c hebephile would make more sense

another important thing is what they would do vs what they think others should do.

@teal @arisudotexe @elderemosarecool true but if it's just a personal choice it doesn't really make sense to say you're "anti-x", i'm probably never going to do lsd but that doesn't mean i'm anti lsd
@arisudotexe right. So wouldn't that defeat the purpose of complex c if it's also common for pro cs to have limits on what consent is?
@elderemosarecool @arisudotexe pretty much, contact labels are too reductive, to the point where they often cause misunderstandings
@nep
i think the point of complex-c is to try to get people to not assume you are one of the two extremes
